Publish an Ebook Today

Join the Ebook Revolution

Now is the time to publish an ebook.

Last year more than half of the books sold on Amazon were for the Kindle. Other ebook publishers also reported increasingly large numbers of books sold for electronic readers.

Writing an ebook is remarkably easy. All the writing can be done using Word or Open Office. In fact, most of the ebook publishers provide you with step by step instructions on how to format your document for quick and easy uploading.

One of the questions that surface is where to publish ebooks.

You can publish an ebook for the Kindle directly, or you can utilize one of the distributors of ebooks such as smashwords.com.

For instance, I recently formatted Radical Excellence as an ebook and used smashwords.com as the distributor. The exciting part of that process is that the book then is converted to be read on multiple e-readers and even on mobile devices.

Best of all... it's free!

So in this case, you can publish your book without any financial investment, although it is still up to you, the author, to publicize and promote the book. Don't feel bad about that, because even with a traditional publisher, that will be the case.

The Pricing Structure

There are a few reasons why you want to make your work appear in an electronic form.

  • Get a special message out there inexpensively
  • Establish your reputation as a writer
  • Make some money. Nothing wrong with that!
Here is the amazing part. You can sell an ebook for $4.99 and actually make more money per book that if you sell a paperback version for $12.99.

The reason the profit is higher is that if you price your ebook within certain low ranges, your profit will be 60 to 70 percent. This compares favorably with the 2 percent you might receive for a paperback version.

So what is holding you back?

Be courageous. Be motivated. Be persistent. Be successful.
